Sofia and Skiing in the Mountains

My dear friend Boriana, the consummate hostess, welcomed me to Bulgaria
as only the Bulgarians can: skiing, eating, drinking, eating, more eating
and a sauna. It was just 4 days between Sofia and the beautiful ski resort
towns nearby, but I had a blast! Bori's family was the best, with ski-champ
nieces and a grandfather who breached the Iron Curtain dozens of years before
the USSR fell. "Rusa Zakuska" and folk singers in the cold, and
many other fond memories...
