I'm still missing the interesting half of the Xian pictures: old muslim men wearing ENORMOUS
round sunglasses, wrapped in white gowns and with skullcaps. Instead, here's what Xian is
famous for, the terra cotta army. Honestly, I wasn't as wowed as I expected.. the zoo of
Chinese tourism (complete with 3-foot replicas that will hunt garden gnomes) just defeats the
idea of the timeless egotism that led to their creation. It also doesn't help the tranquility..
(The supercute kiddos were on our first sleeper train - from Beijing to Xian)
